So, as you may have noticed, theCakesite has undergone a bit of a makeover. Rather than simply cosmetic, this is the first of a few changes over the next weeks and months as the editors take a new approach. As a project run alongside full-time degree courses from the very origins in 2008, it's always been a hard slog to keep output regular and to put as much time into the magazine as we'd like. This year Andy has been storming the poetry scene as a writer-in-residence, poet in schools and the proud author of two wonderful pamphlets, whilst I've been languishing on the MA at Lancaster. |

A lovely review ofCake Issue 2by Afric McGlinchey atSabotage, with some wonderful comments and a thorough read-through the poems. We're very pleased with the attention to detail given to the reviewing of the magazines on this site; they really take the reading seriously, and we're glad they found things to enjoy throughout. Thanks Sabotage! *As mentioned at the end of the article, we were indeed missing a good handful on contributor notes. We claim only part-responsibility for this - contributors were emailed with plenty of time to provide us with their notes! |
